

On September 12th, 2025, the Yangtze River Delta (Jiaxing) Overseas Middle East Cooperation and Exchange Conference and Cross-border Procurement Matching Conference was held in Haining, Zhejiang Province. Jiaxing signed five foreign trade export cooperation projects with Middle Eastern countries, with a total value of 105 million US dollars, covering fields such as photovoltaic, textile and garment, and mechanical equipment. The five major industrial belts of luggage, sweaters, down jackets, fabrics and leather have all settled in the Jiaxing Youpin (Dubai) Direct Sales Center, marking Jiaxing's further advancement towards a new stage of "industrial belt going global".
With the continuous advancement of the Belt and Road Initiative, economic and trade exchanges between Zhejiang and Middle Eastern countries have been deepening increasingly. Data shows that in 2024, the trade volume between Zhejiang and Middle Eastern countries reached 83.1 billion US dollars, accounting for 18.45% of China's total trade volume with these countries. From January to June this year, the trade volume between Zhejiang and Middle Eastern countries reached 43.4 billion US dollars, increasing by 4.3% year-on-year.
Chen Jianzhong, president of the Zhejiang Council for the Promotion of International Trade, said that Zhejiang and Middle Eastern countries have complementary industrial advantages and strategic alignment. He looks forward to the two sides conducting cooperation on a larger scale, in broader fields and at a deeper level to achieve a higher level of mutual benefit and win-win results.
On the spot, representatives from Middle Eastern countries such as Egypt, Dubai and Jordan carried out economic and trade promotion.
